Too wet to go out And too cold to play ball

I’ve been getting so excited because summer is almost here, but then this week we had rain every. Single. Day. It isn’t very cold when it rains, but they do put a damper on doing things like going to the beach. So I spent a lot of this week indoors just getting stuff done.

One day, though, I did decide to go for a fun little walk, even though it was lightly sprinkling. So I drove about 20 minutes to a green spot on the map and found a simple little trail that went around a small lake. I started to walk and about 20 seconds in, the sky opened up and absolutely dumped on me. But my parents didn’t raise no baby so I kept walking anyways. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in rain that heavy and I was completely soaked by the time I got back to my car 20 minutes later. I literally had to wring the water out of my hair. It was quite the refreshing walk!

A big part of what motivated me to still do it was a conversation I had with someone from church last Sunday. We were talking about how when we’re little things like rain and dirt don’t bother us, we just enjoy what we’re doing. It’s when we get older that we act as though we aren’t washable and stop ourselves from living in the moment because we’re worried about a future inconvenience. So I decided I’m going to let little Kyra out to play more and live in the moments right in front of me.

I also spend some time this week preparing for the talk I gave in church today. I’m a weirdo who actually enjoys speaking in church so I had a great time with it. The only disappointing thing was that I only had 10 minutes. I’m a bit of a yapper so I have a hard time cutting down my talks to even 15-20 minutes so 10 minutes felt like nothing! I feel like it went well, though, and that’s all I can ask for.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this week will be a lot sunnier so I can actually enjoy the beaches I’m surrounded by! Until then, enjoy the random pictures I took this week of the day-to-day life stuff.

I was so impressed with the care the Amazon workers had for my stuff.

Also, I found a lego man painted on a rock.

And I got patio furniture so I can actually use my balcony! (the green theme is still going strong)
